HISTORY OF PORT SUSAN CAMPING CLUB
HISTORY: The Port Susan Camping Club was chartered as a not for profit corporation by the Tulalip Tribes of Washington on May 17, 1977. It is situated on land held in trust for the Tribes by the federal government. The corporation is licensed to operate as a camping club until May 17, 2052, at which time the corporation may be dissolved and the net assets may be distributed to the Tulalip Tribes of Washington.
ORGANIZATION: Port Susan currently operates under Tribal approved by-laws dated May 4, 1996. The most recent publication of rules and regulations is dated June 15, 1996. The by-laws empower the Board of Directors to manage the affairs of the Club, which includes but is not limited to, setting policy, modifying the dues structure, and amending the rules and regulations as they deem necessary. Changes to the rules and regulations are posted prior to their taking effect, and it is the member’s responsibility to keep abreast of any changes that may be instituted.
USE: Camping at Port Susan is restricted to 180 days per membership site per fiscal year and members may own up to three (3) sites. The fiscal year runs from May 1 to April 30. Once the limit of use is reached for a campsite, the member must physically remove themselves from that site, and no one may use it for the remainder of the fiscal year.
SIZE: Port Susan Camping Club is the largest private membership only gated camping club community in the Pacific Northwest and is located on the Tulalip Indian Reservation. It has approximately 2,500 Membership sites on nearly 700 acres with 50+ miles of road within the park. The sites are separated by a green belt area which provides privacy and a relaxed area to camp and vacation. This is a Great Place to Enjoy Camping with your family and Friends or an economical place to recreate.
